March 25, 2026
was proud to honor Officer Sorffly Davius on the House floor alongside Congressman Gregory Meeks and fellow New York representatives. A true American hero, he served with distinction in the NYPD’s 79th Precinct and as a Major in the United States Army National Guard. He passed away while deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Epic Fury. In Rockland County, he was a neighbor, a friend, and a devoted husband and father of six. March 25, 2026
I attended the FIRST Robotics Competition Hudson Valley Regional at Rockland Community College. We celebrated creativity, teamwork, and the kind of determination that drives the future of innovation. Programs like the FIRST Robotics Competition are so important because they give students the opportunity to get hands-on experience, think critically, and work together to solve real problems. That’s what builds confidence, fosters leadership, and prepares the next generation of STEM leaders.

Rep. Lawler Visits the Nanuet II Senior Club in Clarkstown
March 25, 2026
On Monday, I visited with the members of the Nanuet II Senior Club in Clarkstown. With tax season here, we discussed how, for the first time ever under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, seniors aged 65 and older will receive a $6,000 deduction ($12,000 for married couples) to help offset Social Security taxes. For years, families in high-tax states like New York have been hit by the federal SALT cap, which limited how much they could deduct in state and local taxes. That cap was set at $10,000,...

Rally in the Valley Hosted by Jawonio - Rep. Lawler
March 17, 2026
I was honored to join families, advocates, and providers at the Rally in the Valley hosted by Jawonio at Rockland Community College to stand up for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I will never support taking Medicaid away from the people who rely on it. Just like Social Security and Medicare, these vital programs must always be protected. Direct Support Professionals do incredible work helping individuals live independently and be part of our communities. But across...

Rep. Lawler, Energy Secretary Wright Tour Indian Point
March 11, 2026
Families across the Hudson Valley are opening their utility bills and asking the same question — why are energy prices going through the roof? A 2026 NYSERDA memo indicates that New York's climate law mandates could increase average household energy costs by $4,000 annually. Yesterday, I welcomed U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Chris Wright to the site of the former Indian Point Energy Center, where we called for the plant to be rebuilt and reopened as part of an effort to lower energy costs...

It was great to attend the Rockland County YMCA Youth & Government Program’s Annual Tri-County Conference. Programs like this help shape the next generation of leaders, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support and e...

Pawling Unofficial St. Patrick's Day Parade (2026)
February 23, 2026
It was a beautiful day for the Pawling Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day Parade, known as “America’s Shortest Parade,” now in its 10th year. Congratulations to Grand Marshal Tralee Saltarelli and all the organizers on this special celebration of Irish heritage and culture. While the parade covers a mere 223 feet of Broad Street, there is still plenty of fun for the whole family. ☘️
