REP. LAWLER DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM REP. TLAIB AND “THE SQUAD” FOR PROPAGATING SINISTER LIE ABOUT GAZA HOSPITAL INCIDENT
Washington, DC,
October 18, 2023
Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) released the following statement condemning Rep. Tlaib and members of ‘the Squad’ for their role in propagating Hamas’ lies about the horrific incident at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital. The IDF, President Biden, and numerous other sources have indicated that the cause of the attack was a terrorist rocket misfire. "It is appalling and unacceptable that Democrats in Congress partook in Hamas’ misinformation campaign which falsely accused the Israel Defense Forces of bombing a hospital in Gaza," said Congressman Lawler. "Rep. Tlaib and her radical colleagues helped spread this insidious lie far and wide, without remorse, and as of this morning have yet to take down their posts, issue an apology, or place blame on the actual perpetrators with the same conviction." "The loss of any civilian life in this conflict is unacceptable and should be avoided at all costs, but there is only one side using human shields, blocking humanitarian corridors, and conducting false flag attacks, and that is Hamas," continued Congressman Lawler. "The fact that Rep. Tlaib and her colleagues in ‘the Squad’ are unable to bring themselves to condemn Hamas, an international terrorist organization, for these actions shows they are unfit to serve in the United States Congress." "Moreover, Hamas’ lies, amplified by my Democratic colleagues, have led to disgusting and rampant antisemitism both at home and abroad. It’s sickening to see the level of hate espoused by antisemites, and it has gotten to the point where our Jewish friends and neighbors are scared to walk in the city, call an uber, or post on social media," concluded Congressman Lawler. "I would hope that Rep. Tlaib and ‘the Squad’ can bring themselves to see this ugly truth, the hateful environment they have stoked, and understand the fear their Jewish constituents are feeling."
