REP. LAWLER INTRODUCES RESOLUTION URGING BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO RESCIND RELEASE OF FROZEN IRANIAN FUNDS AND LAWFULLY ENFORCE THE TAYLOR FORCE ACT

This week, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, introduced H.Res.776, a resolution calling on the Biden Administration to rescind its release of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds and lawfully enforce the Taylor Force Act.

"On all fronts, the Administration must stop subsidizing terrorism. From the start, I have been deeply critical of the Biden Administration’s release of sanctioned funds to Iran and the announcement of this deal to Congress on September 11th," Congressman Lawler (NY-17) stated. "We absolutely cannot turn a blind eye to the continued support of terrorism by the Iranian regime and the Administration must immediately rescind the waiver that allowed for the transfer of these illicit funds to Iran."

"Just as important, President Biden needs to fully enforce the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits United States assistance to the Palestinian Authority until they stop their pay-to-slay policies," continued Congressman Lawler (NY-17). "Unfortunately, the PA continues to incentivize the murder of civilian men, women, children, and the elderly through its ‘Martyr’s Fund.’ President Biden should never have resumed aid and they must not receive one cent more until they abandon these pro-terror policies."

New York's 17th Congressional District is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties. It has one of the largest Jewish populations in the country, many of whom are currently in Israel or have relatives who are.
