REP. LAWLER INTRODUCES RESOLUTION CONDEMNING NYC-DSA FOR ANTISEMITIC AND ANTI-ISRAEL RALLY AFTER HAMAS TERROR ATTACK

This week, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) introduced H.Res 775, a resolution condemning the New York City Democratic Socialists of America (NYC-DSA) for their shocking display of support for the recent Hamas terrorist attack against Israel.

"It is absolutely disgusting that the NYC-DSA held a rally celebrating the murderous rampage of Hamas terrorists through Israel," Congressman Lawler (NY-17) stated. "There is no moral equivalency between Israel defending its right to exist and these cold-blooded killers who went door to door indiscriminately butchering men, women, children, and the elderly. It is unconscionable that these fringe lunatics stand in solidarity with Hamas murderers."

H.Res 775 condemns the NYC-DSA for the antisemitic and anti-Israel rally held on October 8, 2023. It also reaffirms America’s unwavering support for Israel as it defends itself against terrorism and our commitment to standing against antisemitism both globally and in our own backyard. The resolution is co-sponsored by Representatives Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01), Marc Molinaro (NY-19), Ralph Norman (SC-05), Claudia Tenney (NY-24), Randy Feenstra (IA-04), Andrew Garbarino (NY-02), Nick Langworthy (NY-23), Anthony D'Esposito (NY-04), Chris Smith (NJ-04), Brandon Williams (NY-22), Elise Stefanik (NY-21), and Nick LaLota (NY-01).

New York's 17th Congressional District is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties. It has one of the largest Jewish populations in the country, many of whom are currently in Israel or have relatives who are.
