REP. LAWLER CONDEMNS UNPRECEDENTED AND UNPROVOKED ATTACK AGAINST ISRAEL: "WE STAND WITH OUR CLOSEST ALLY"

Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, vehemently condemned the attack on Israel. This morning, the militant Hamas rulers of the Gaza Strip carried out a multi-front attack on Israel, firing thousands of rockets and infiltrating the besieged nation's borders in several locations.

"Today is not only Shabbat but also the holiday of Simchat Torah, which is supposed to be a joyous time celebrating the completion of the annual reading of the Torah. But instead of anticipating a night of song and dancing, Israelis awoke to the sounds of alarms, gunfire, and murderous terrorists invading their country," said Congressman Lawler (NY-17). "Let me blunt: These terrorists have been emboldened by the Biden Administration's failed policies of appeasement towards Iran with a $6 billion cash giveaway and the vile anti-Semitic rhetoric of certain Members of Congress, whose contempt for Israel is palpable."

"Back here, I will continue to call those hateful people out by name, continue to oppose resumption of aid to the Palestinian Authority, and stand foursquare against any normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia that requires Israel to make further concessions to the Palestinians. The Abraham Accords have brought us closer to peace in the Middle East than ever before, and today's attack is a deliberate attempt to sabotage those gains. Those responsible must pay a heavy, heavy price." concluded Congressman Lawler.
