  • Financial Services

Today, the House Financial Services Committee announced the selection of Congressman Mike Lawler to serve on two critical subcommittees, Capital Markets and Housing and Insurance.

“I am thrilled to have been selected to serve on the Capital Markets and Housing and Insurance Subcommittees,” Rep. Lawler stated. “I look forward to working with Chairman McHenry and Subcommittee members on both sides of the aisle to tackle the pressing issues at hand, including the need for additional housing stock, ensuring the US remains the pre-eminent economic power of the world, and addressing concerns in the insurance markets.”

“I congratulate all of our Republican members on their subcommittee assignments for the 118th Congress,” said Chairman McHenry. “With such a competent and dynamic team, Committee Republicans are ready to hit the ground running with our oversight, opportunity, and innovation agenda. As we work to establish clear rules of the road for the evolving digital asset ecosystem, conduct rigorous oversight of the Biden Administration, enhance capital formation opportunities, and end the politicization of our financial system, their expertise and experience will be invaluable. I look forward to working with this talented group.”

The House Financial Services Committee has jurisdiction over many vital economic issues, including banking, economic stabilization, defense production, pricing, financial aid to commerce and industry, insurance, international finance and monetary organizations, money and credit, housing policy, securities and exchanges, and urban development.
