Lawler Delivers Over $12 Million in Community Project Funding for Hudson Valley Public Safety and Water Infrastructure

Washington, D.C. – 1/8/25... Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) announced that more than $12 million in Community Project Funding requests he submitted on behalf of the Hudson Valley were included in the Fiscal Year 2026 Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment appropriations package. This includes critical public safety and infrastructure investments across the district. This legislation overwhelmingly passed the House of Representatives earlier today.

Despite a delayed start to the fiscal year due to the Schumer shutdown in late 2025, advancing these three bills moves Congress closer to completing all 12 FY26 appropriations measures

“These projects reflect the priorities I hear about every day from local leaders and families across the Hudson Valley, keeping our communities safe and investing in reliable infrastructure. By working through regular order and across party lines, we were able to deliver real, locally driven results for New York’s 17th District while maintaining fiscal discipline," said Congressman Lawler.

The following Community Project Funding requests sponsored by Congressman Lawler were included in the House-passed package:

  • $4,200,000 – Rockland County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement equipment
  • $2,250,000 – Village of Pleasantville for water tank improvements
  • $1,250,000 – Town of North Salem for sewer installation
  • $1,250,000 – Town of Yorktown for sewer service expansion
  • $1,250,000 – Town of Carmel for water treatment plant improvements
  • $1,000,000 – Town of Ossining for water distribution system upgrades
  • $983,200 – Village of Sleepy Hollow for water main lining project

“In addition to funding critical projects that will have real impacts back home, this package provides key funding for essential government programs. The Commerce, Justice, Science section of the bill increases funding for the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to combat fentanyl in our communities, directs funding to support the fight against the fentanyl epidemic and advances several initiatives to combat the Chinese Communist Party,” continued Congressman Lawler.

“Notably, the bill expands funding for key law enforcement programs that ensure our police forces have the necessary resources to do their jobs. The Interior and Environment section of this legislation enhances access to public lands, supports wildland firefighters, and fully funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The Energy and Water Development portion of the bill unleashes American energy and includes a massive investment in modernizing our Nuclear weapons stockpile and infrastructure,” concluded Congressman Lawler.

The package now heads to the Senate for consideration.
