Washington, D.C. - 11/18/2025… Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which passed the House on November 18th. “The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has spent months reviewing tens of thousands of documents tied to this case. Anyone who participated in, enabled, or covered up the heinous crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell must be held fully accountable. By passing this bill, Congress is ensuring full transparency and giving the American people the truth they’ve asked for. The Department of Justice must pursue charges wherever the evidence leads,” said Congressman Lawler. “Justice for the victims of these senseless crimes should never be a bargaining chip. Protecting the dignity and privacy of survivors must remain a top priority, and lawmakers, the media, and the public all have that responsibility after today’s vote,” concluded Congressman Lawler. Congressman Lawler is one of the most bipartisan members of Congress and represents New York's 17th Congressional District, which is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties. He was rated the most effective freshman lawmaker in the 118th Congress, 8th overall, surpassing dozens of committee chairs. ### |
