Rockland Daily: Congressman Lawler Announces 2025 Town Hall Schedule
By Rockland Daily Staff ,
March 11, 2025
U.S. Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York’s 17th Congressional District, has announced a series of town hall meetings across the Hudson Valley for 2025. The events are scheduled for April in Rockland County, May in Westchester, and June in both Putnam and Dutchess counties, providing constituents an opportunity to engage directly with the representative. Lawler shared the news in a post on X, stating, “I’m excited to announce we have four upcoming town halls across the district over the next 3 months! These events are an opportunity for you to share your thoughts, ask questions, and hear about the work I’m doing in Washington and here at home. I look forward to seeing you there and hearing from you!” Further details, including specific dates and times, will be released in the coming weeks, according to the congressman’s office. The announcement comes as Republicans in Congress are facing increasing scrutiny from constituents, following reports from leadership to not do town halls. This once again shows Congressman Lawler’s independence and willingness to buck party leadership to engage with his constituents. Congressman Lawler previously stated on X, in response to a post calling him a “missing Congressman, stated “I’ve done over 1200 in-district, in-person events since becoming a member of Congress, including over 50 in-person town hall and mobile office hour meetings and we just announced upcoming town halls. Since Thursday night, I’ve done 11 events and meetings across the district.” |
