Today, Congressman Mike Lawler called for the removal of District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his political prosecutions of President Donald Trump, Marine hero Daniel Penny, and Jose Alba.

“The jury righted a tremendous wrong — he never should have been charged in the first place,” said Congressman Lawler. “Daniel Penny has served our country and sought to protect perfect strangers. This is a just verdict.”

“Alvin Bragg has failed in his responsibilities to enforce the law and keep New Yorkers safe. Sadly, he has engaged in political prosecutions on numerous cases, including President Trump, Daniel Penny and Jose Alba,” concluded Congressman Lawler.“He should be removed from office immediately.” 

Congressman Lawler is one of the most bipartisan members of the 118th Congress and represents New York's 17th Congressional District, which is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties.
