Lawler Says Attacks Against the LGBTQ Community Have No Place In Our Society

Pearl River, N.Y. - 1/11/23... Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) released the following statement condemning today’s act of vandalism against the Rockland Pride Center:

“The Rockland Pride Center provides invaluable resources to the local LGBTQ community, including healthcare and family services. Today members of that community found their building vandalized with bigoted slurs.

This is simply unacceptable. Hate has no place in the 17th District or anywhere in our country."

New York’s 17th District, which includes all or parts of Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties, is a suburban district located just north of New York City. The 17th District is also home to one of the largest Jewish populations in the country.
