Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to repeal funding for an additional 87,000 IRS agents that passed in the 117th Congress.

"Over the course of the last year, I’ve pledged to repeal the funding for 87,000 new IRS agents that would have unleashed a torrent of auditors on middle-class families and small businesses in the Hudson Valley,” said Rep. Lawler. “It was unacceptable that the 117th Congress decided to saddle American taxpayers with this burden, and I’m glad that this new House majority is cleaning up their mess.”

“We are delivering on our promises to the American people and the passage of the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act is a fitting start to our pro-taxpayer, pro-American agenda,” concluded Rep. Lawler.
