LTE: Examiner News: Cindy Trimble: Lawler’s Common-Sense, Bipartisan Approach Makes Him an Asset Locally

As a resident of the Hudson Valley, I am proud to be represented by Congressman Mike Lawler, a true embodiment of bipartisan, common-sense leadership. In a political climate often marred by division, Congressman Lawler stands out as a beacon of cooperation and practicality, tirelessly working for the best interests of our district. What impresses me most about Congressman Lawler is his ability to transcend partisan lines for the greater good of the Hudson Valley. His approach to governing is not about towing a party line but about finding effective solutions to the issues that matter most to us. Earlier this year, Congressman Lawler was a clear, bipartisan leader, working with Republicans and Democrats to reduce federal spending by $2.1 trillion over the next 10 years without impacting critical benefits Hudson Valley families rely upon. Whether it’s addressing our local concerns or navigating the complexities of national policy, his focus remains steadfastly on the well-being of his constituents. Congressman Lawler’s efforts in promoting bipartisan legislation, as evidenced by his ranking as one of the most centrist members in the House, are a testament to his commitment to getting things done, rather than scoring political points. This stands in stark contrast to his likely 2024 opponent, Mondaire Jones, who was the third most progressive member of the House of Representatives during his term. That kind of blind partisanship does little to advance initiatives and priorities for Hudson Valley families. Congressman Mike Lawler’s pragmatic and bipartisan approach makes him an invaluable asset to the Hudson Valley. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and effective representative in Congress, and I am confident that under his leadership, our community will continue to thrive. |
