Congressman Mike Lawler released the following statement after the Supreme Court announced it would hear a case regarding access to Mifepristone.

"As I said when running for Congress, I do not support any efforts to establish a national ban on abortion, whether it be through Congress or through the judicial system,” said Congressman Lawler. “The Supreme Court needs to stand down. A federal law revoking a woman’s access to mifepristone would violate the rights of state representatives and the people who elect them to make these decisions.”

New York's 17th Congressional District is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties.
