Improving the Lives of Veterans

The House just passed H.R. 8371 – the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act. This bipartisan bill will help us honor our commitment to the men and women who have served our nation while delivering meaningful change for our veterans and their families. The bill brought together a number of critical reforms, including:

- The VET-TEC Authorization Act, which expands high-tech career opportunities for veterans.
- The Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act, which ensures our aging veterans can receive care at home with dignity.
- The Veterans Care Improvement Act, which improves the quality and timeliness of care under VA’s community care programs.
- The HOME Act, which raises support for providers addressing veteran homelessness and expanding rideshare access for medical and employment appointments.
- And the COPE Act, which will provide critical mental health support for those caring for veterans.

Getting this bill across the finish line in the House is a testament to what we can get done when we work together across the aisle and with veterans organizations.
