Congressman Mike Lawler Releases Statement as Supreme Court Hears Oral Arguments on Mifepristone Access

Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) released the following statement as the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on a case relating to Mifepristone access.

“As I said when the decision was made to hear this case, the Supreme Court should stand down on this issue,” said Congressman Lawler. “Decisions regarding access to prescription medication should be left to doctors, their patients, the FDA, and individual states.”

“I have been and will continue to be opposed to a national ban on abortion, and that applies to legislative efforts to create one or a court-imposed effort to create one,” concluded Congressman Lawler. “A potential ruling banning or limiting the use of Mifepristone in this case falls into the latter category.”
