Submit Artwork

My office is proud to participate in the Congressional Institute’s Art Competition and will be reviewing entries submitted by high schoolers across New York’s 17th District!

The Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

You can find the 2024 Rules for Students and Teachers HERE.

We will recognize the finalists in our district and the winner will be invited to an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol while finalists will have their artwork displayed in our District office or D.C. office. The second-place contestant will have their artwork displayed in our Washington, D.C. office and the third-place contestant’s work will be displayed in our District office.

For your submission to be considered, contestants must ensure their artwork along with the completed Student Information & Release form are received at our Pearl River office no later than close of business on Thursday, April 18th.

Sincerely,

Michael V. Lawler
